The UC Berkeley IT and Health Lab is part of a joint venture between UCB, Cornell, Vanderbilt, and UT Dallas through TRUST. Our research focuses on the development of body sensor and teleimmersive systems for human monitoring and analysis.

WAVE

WAVE is an API for the Google Android OS which aims to provide easy management of wireless body sensor networks and functions for analyzing body sensor data. With WAVE, users will be able to quickly develop BSN applications for mobile devices using Android OS.

CalFit

CalFit is an Android application for monitoring and encouraging physical activity and fitness by incorporating social networking and competition. It will be released to the public for beta testing in the near future.

SPINE (Signal Processing In Node Environment), developed by Telecom Italia

SPINE, developed by Telecom Italia, is a framework for simple setup and management of wireless sensor networks. SPINE forms the backbone of our sensor network systems, and we are collaborating with Telecom Italia to further its development.

WARD (Wearable Action Recognition Database)

WARD (available for download at the link above), is a benchmark database of 13 common whole-body actions performed by 20 subjects. These actions include walking, sitting, going up stairs, etc. (PLEASE cite our JAISE paper referring to WARD in your publications.)
